Abstract
The current study intended to explore the mindfulness as mediator in relationship between resilience and perceived stress. A stratified random sample of 391(191 male & 200 female) university students from University of Gujrat, Pakistan participated in current research project. The age range of the participants was from 18 years to 25 years with mean age of 20.9 (±SD = 2.0). The Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire-Short Form (FFMQ-SF; Baer, 2003), Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC; Connor & Davidson, 2003) and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS; Cohen, 1994) were used. Preacher and Hayes (2008) bootstrapping approach was used for statistical analysis of data along with descriptive statistics. Findings of mediation analysis revealed that mindfulness mediates the relationship between resilience and perceived stress. The present findings provided new information about mindfulness, resilience and perceived stress affecting university students. These results have implications for training and counseling of such students.
